Dates for North West Angling Fair 2026 confirmed

ANGLERS across the North West region can officially mark their calendars as Derry City and Strabane District Council has confirmed that the 2026 North West Angling Fair will take place on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.

"The 2026 Fair promises to be bigger and better and will take place in the newly refurbished Melvin Sports Complex in Strabane," a council spokesperson said.

"This modern, state-of-the-art venue will provide an ideal setting for showcasing the best of angling gear, services and expert demonstrations.

"While general event details are still being finalised, the organisers are now actively inviting expressions of interest from potential traders, exhibitors, and businesses within the angling and outdoor industries.

"This is a prime opportunity for businesses to connect directly with a dedicated audience of fishing enthusiasts, from seasoned experts to newcomers."

"The North West Angling Fair is renowned for bringing together the best in fishing tackle, casting demonstrations, expert talks and valuable networking opportunities," the spokesperson added.

"It is the premier angling event in the region, dedicated to promoting the sport of fishing and supporting the angling trade."

It is hosted annually by Derry City and Strabane District Council, with funding and assistance from the Loughs Agency, and attracts more than 3,000 visitors to Strabane.
