MACE Sion Mills has recently hit the impressive milestone of raising £10,000 for local health charity, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS).

Over the years, members of staff from the store have taken part in a variety of fundraising events including golf days and static cycles, and customers have shown their generosity when staff have organised in-store fundraising initiatives.

The charity partnership has thrived over the years, and is not solely focused on raising funds. MACE Sion Mills also actively supports Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke’s annual blood pressure awareness campaign, working with NICHS’s Health Promotion team to give the local community the opportunity to access free, pop-up blood pressure checks in-store.

Maurice Cusack, marketing manager for MACE, said: “Congratulations to our MACE retailer, Declan Corry and his team at MACE Sion Mills for reaching a fantastic £10,000 in fundraising for our charity partner.

"At Musgrave, we are very proud to have supported Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke for nine years, and the team at Sion Mills are extremely passionate about raising as much money as possible to help the charity deliver vital services across Northern Ireland.”

Gavin Adams, director of Income Generation at NICHS, added: “We are so grateful for the ongoing generosity of MACE Sion Mills, their staff and customers who, over the years, have ensured that thousands of people affected by chest, heart or stroke related conditions have received the support and care that they deserve.

"We would like to say a huge thank you for raising this tremendous sum of money as 90 per cent of our income comes from public donations.

"Fundraising efforts like MACE Sion Mills’ are vital to the work we do, and we look forward to building on this great partnership.”
