STUFF a Bus is calling on you to help those in need in the Strabane area this Christmas

The Stuff a Bus campaign bids to ensure no one faces hunger this Christmas.

Working with Homeless Connect’s FareShare programme, alongside partners U105 and Belfast Live, the much-needed campaign has seen Translink’s bus and rail stations open their doors to facilitate a different type of connection.

Running up until December 19, food collection points can accept donations from passengers, staff, and the general public.

These donations of dry goods such as pasta, cereal, tinned food, and long-life items, will be distributed by FareShare to a range of community groups, schools, hostels, and food banks, reaching those most in need and at risk of hunger this Christmas across the Strabane area.

The Stuff a Bus appeal comes at a time when the cost-of-living crisis is at peak levels.

With more families now facing severe financial difficulties, many of whom have never needed support before and are now finding themselves in need.

Commenting on the importance of this year’s campaign, Ursula Gallagher, Strabane Community Project, said: “The Stuff a Bus Campaign is vital to us and more than ever this year.

"If you can donate this year, it doesn’t matter how little every single donation is appreciated.

"It can keep our beautiful Food Market and Grass Roots Supermarket going for those that really need it in our community”.

Food donations can be made in bus and rail stations until December 19.
