THERE was a great turnout at Newtownstewart on Saturday to support captains Trevor and Lorraine and ensure their year got off to a great start.
Teams competed over 12 holes on a lovely dry day complete with bright sunshine.
While the scoring was moderate, it was a pleasure to play on the main greens and feel that spring and the new golfing year had finally arrived.
Earlier in the day Peter Kelly continued his good form to win the Saturday Stableford.
Sunday's competition was won by Davy Smyth with John McQuade in second place. Wednesday's Stableford was won by David Nesbitt.
The fixtures diary is now available in the club shop.
The Ladies' season gets underway this Thursday with a nine-hole 'Bring and Win' competition with a social and prize-giving later that evening.
St Patrick's Day will see another mixed team competition with a shotgun start at 11am.
