STRABANE Sigersons have confirmed that they have appointed Conal Crawford as a full-time Games Development Officer.

This is entirely a club-funded position which the club says highlights its commitment to the promotion of Gaelic games in Strabane town and is only possible because of the financial support Sigersons receive from local people and local businesses each year.

Conal is a current senior team player and has come through the club from a young age.

He is a former senior ladies manager also who guided the ladies to a Junior ‘B’ double in 2022.

A club spokesperson said: "We are very happy as a club that Conal is now in position which underlines our pledge to maintain strong links with the local schools and ensuring that children are getting more opportunities to play Gaelic football and improve their skills on a weekly basis.

"We have been able to work closely with our local primary schools in bringing together a weekly timetable which will see roughly 30 classes avail of the coaching each week.

"During the school holiday periods, Conal will be providing extra coaching in the club but also reaching out to local community organisations to offer coaching in areas around the town.

"Strabane Sigersons are very proud of where we have come from since our reformation in 1986.

"We have always ensured that we don’t stand still as a club and are always looking ways to progress. this appointment indicates our intention to keep doing that for many more years to come.

"Best wishes to Conal in his new role, we have full trust in his abilities and will be happy to support him and the local schools in the months and years to come."
