A SPARKLING hat-trick by new signing Kelvin Nelson helped Strabane Athletic Reserves into the next round of the North West Matt Morrison Cup.
BBOB were the visitors to the 3G pitch at Melvin Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon with supporters treated to a thrilling afternoon.
Nelson's hat-trick and goals by Conor Carlin and Shay Smith fired Athletic into the next round.
Manager Barry Hegarty said: "We would like to welcome Kelvin Nelson back to the club – another local lad who will add a lot of quality to our squad.
"No better way to kick-start his return than with a hat-trick and two assists, a Man of the Match performance.”
The club has confirmed two further additions to the squad with the signings of Shane McNulty and Finn Hennigan.
"Strabane AFC are delighted to announce two new additions to our Men’s Reserve team," a club spokesperson said.
"The club would like to welcome Shane McNulty to the reserve squad.
“Shane is an exciting attacking player who will bring quality and goals to the top end of the pitch, along with a fantastic work rate off the ball.
"We are also pleased to welcome Finn Hennigan, a strong and aggressive centre-half who, despite his young age, brings plenty of experience to the game.
"With his leadership and commitment, Finn will be a great addition to our squad.
"Welcome to Strabane AFC, lads!"
