DERGVIEW FC has announced the signings of midfielder Corey McLaughlin and defender Zach McFadden.

MccLaughlin returns to Darragh Park ahead of the second half of the season.

He previously made 50 plus appearances in the black and white and joins from fellow Premier Intermediate League (PIL) side, Ballyclare Comrades.

The midfielder brings a strong work ethic, energy, and composure to the group, and Dergview manager, Andrew Sproule, is delighted to have him back at the club.

“I am delighted to have Corey back at the club. He is a quality player," Sproule said.

"He knows what we are about and what our ambitions are.

"I’m delighted he wants to be part of that and to continue developing as a player with us.”

Young defender, Zach McFadden, joins the north Tyrone club from Buncrana Hearts.

The 22 year-old's football journey began at youth level with Foyle Harps FC, where he developed through his mid-teens.

He then moved into senior football as a teenager with Derry City FC, gaining exposure to elite environments around 16 to 17.

A spell with Institute FC followed, before further senior experience with Limavady United FC.

Zach continued his development in the North West with Trojans YCG and Foyle Wanderers FC, before most recently lining out for the Donegal side.

Sproule sees McFadden as an exciting defensive addition who fits perfectly with the club's immediate and long-term development plans.

He said he's a player who is comfortable on the ball, communicates well, and brings a strong physical presence to the back line., while off the pitch, he is a good personality and a player who is keen to learn and improve.

Sproule said: "Zach is a great addition to the club. He brings qualities that we really like in a defender - strong, physical, ball-playing and a good communicator.

"He’s at a very good age and fits well with what we’re building at Dergview.”

The arrival of McFadden and McLaughlin follows the signings of Ryan Mayse and Ashley Lowry who have both returned to the club in the transfer window.

Dergview's PIL game away at Rathfriland Rangers on Saturday was postponed due to a frozen pitch at Iveagh Park.

Sproule's men are back in league action this weekend away to Portstewart on Saturday at R Kings Competitions Stadium, before a home derby against neighbours Strabane Athletic on January 31.
