Air fryer granola

IN this week's cooking column, Sharron McCormick brings readers another tasty recipe; air fryer granola.

Sharron explained: "You can beat homemade granola, especially one cooked in ten minutes in the air fryer.

"Not only does it taste delicious, you can make your own varieties plus you’re not adding any unnecessary additives or preservatives."

Ingredients

l 300g rolled oats

l 100g mixed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower and sesame)

l 100g chopped nuts

l 150g mixed dried fruit (cranberries, chopped apricots, chopped dried apple, sultanas)

l Two teaspoons cinnamon

l Two tablespoons Rapeseed or Olive oil

l Two tablespoons maple syrup or honey

Method

1: Preheat the air fryer to 180 degrees. Add the oil and honey/maple syrup and cook for a few minutes.

2: Mix together the oats, seeds, nuts, flaked almonds and cinnamon together.

3: Stir in the granola mix.

4: Cook for 10 minutes, stirring half way through.

5: Next add the fruit and cook for another two minutes.

6: Once cooled store in an air tight container.

"For an even crunchier texture double up the oil and honey/maple syrup.
