Local student's fitness challenge raises £1,000 for Cancer Focus Group

THE Newtownstewart Cancer Focus Group has received a generous £1,000 donation thanks to the incredible efforts of local student, Sarah Fair.

Home from university for her Christmas break, Sarah set herself an inspiring challenge - to run an impressive 100 kilometres over the course of December.

With the encouragement and support of her parents, Sarah tackled the gruelling challenge head-on, braving cold, wet winter conditions throughout the festive season.

A JustGiving page was set up to support her efforts and remains open for anyone who would still like to contribute to this very worthy cause.

The Newtownstewart Cancer Focus Group has expressed heartfelt thanks to Sarah for her determination and commitment, as well as to everyone who donated so generously.

A spokesperson added: "Sarah’s achievement is a wonderful example of community spirit and the difference one person’s dedication can make."
