AN initiative to encourage local residents to repair, instead of buying brand new items, returned to Strabane at the weekend.
Following its hugely successful debut in the town last year at a number of locations, the Repair Café - the brainchild of sustainability group Repair and Share Foyle - was hosted in The Eco Basket premises on Main Street.
Founded in 2022, the initiative encourages people with broken electrical and other household items to come along and get the items repaired in a bid to save them from landfill and promote a reuse culture.
Small household electrical items including toasters and kettles, laptops, toys, sewing machines as well as small pieces of furniture can be taken to the Repair Cafés to be fixed by experts.
Saturday's event was the first event of 2026 for the Repair Café team and it was hailed a huge success, with lots of interesting and successful repairs.
The team are always on the lookout for experienced volunteers with a knack for repairing, crafting and mending to contribute their skills.
