Stepping out for charity walk in Ballymagorry

THERE was a large attendance at a charity walk in Ballymagorry.

Organised by the Brighter Ballymagorry Development Group (BBDG), the walk on New Year's Day saw participants embarking on a 2k or 5k route around the village, which left from Fox Lodge Cricket Club.

All money raised from the event is going in support of the Diabetes UK charity.

Speaking of the event's success, a spokesperson for BBDG said: "Thanks to everyone who attended the BBDG 5k or 2k UK Diabetes charity walk.

"The amount raised was £393.

"Thanks to the ladies who provided refreshments for the returning walkers and also Fox Lodge Cricket Club for continuing use of the clubhouse facilities as a community hub for Ballymagorry."

Members of the group continue to meet at 9.50am in the clubhouse every Thursday for their weekly walk.
