'Car and Coffee' event raises over £1,800

CAR show organised by Strabane and District Old Vehicle Club has raosed over £1,800 for two local organisations.

The 'Cars, Coffees, Tractors and More' was held on the grounds of Bready Cricket Club last month.

It featured an array of vintage cars, tractors and trucks with all proceeds going to Glenside Adult Training Centre and Knockavoe School in Strabane.

A total of £1,678 plus a £200 donation from the Strabane and District Old Vehicle Club, was raised to be divided equally between the two groups.

A club spokesperson said: "The club would like to thank Martin McBrearty and Brian Haughey for their contributions to our show and to Cormac and Connor Crawford for the entertainment and help provided

"Thanks also to the staff, friends and families from Knockavoe and Glenside for their contributions.

"A special thanks to Don Caldwell and Florie for all her help behind the scenes at Bready Cricket Club.

"Thanks also to all the local business who donated generously to the raffle prizes including Strabane Golf Club, Caldwell Motor Factors, Emerald Auto Parts, Holdon Agriculture Artigarvan, Spar Shop Derry Rd, Spar Artigarvan, RK Mens Wear, McGoldricks Sports Wear, Joe Harley, McCurdy’s Electrical, Ali’s Steakhouse Ballymagorry and Seamus Mc Fadden.

"A very big thank you from all the staff and pupils at Knockavoe School and the staff and clients at Glenside Adult Training Centre to the club and to everyone who attended on the day for their generosity."
