MEMBERS of Fountain Street Community Development Association (FSCDA) recently enjoyed a 'Meet and Greet' reception with the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council.
The local community group were invited to the Guildhall by Mayor Ruairí McHugh where they enjoyed a reception with the district's First Citizen and a tour of the historic building.
"It was a pleasure to welcome members of the Fountain Street Community Association from Strabane to the Guildhall for a Meet and Greet reception," councillor McHugh.
"It was a great opportunity to hear directly from local residents and community leaders about the work being done in the area - and the positive impact it's having.
"Following our conversation, the group enjoyed a tour of the historic Guildhall, a chance to explore one of our city’s most important civic landmarks.
"Thank you to everyone who took part.
“Community engagement like this is vital to building a stronger, more connected city. I hope you all had a great day!"
A spokesperson for FSCDA said the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.
"Warmest thanks to Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District, Ruairí McHugh (and) Derry City and Strabane District Council for their excellent hospitality during the hugely successful visit and tour of the Guildhall.
"Thanks also for the hospitality afforded to our Looking Back Moving Forward group."
