STRABANE Ethnic Community Association (SECA) will conclude its annual Diwali Festival programme with a special event this weekend.
Diwali, India's biggest and most important holiday of the year, is a festival of lights that celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and the human ability to overcome
The three-day Diwali Festival of Lights for 2025 has been bringing Indian art, music and food to Strabane and the North West.
As part of the festival, SECA worked with six local primary schools providing workshops/presentations on Diwali Festival, Indian culture and food.
The group also hosted workshops in its Abercorn Square premises on Saturday including sari tying, Henna art and Rangoli art workshops.
The Festival will conclude with the main event taking place in St Patrick’s Hall in Strabane on Saturday night.
The Diwali evening will feature Indian food, music and dancing as well as a mini fashion show of Indian clothes.
The event begins at 7pm with food served from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Ahead of the event, a SECA spokesperson said: "Join us as we celebrate the Festival of Lights with an evening full of colour, culture and community spirit.
"Enjoy a magical night of music, dance, delicious food, and festive fun as we come together to celebrate Diwal - the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
"This is a free event, and everyone is welcome.
"Let’s light up the evening with joy, togetherness and celebration!"
