Orchestra Northwest presents 'Music By Moonlight' - An enchanting evening of music beneath the Samhain moon

PREPARE to be swept away by music and moonlight as Orchestra Northwest, under the management of Allegri, invites you to an unforgettable concert experience: 'Music By Moonlight'.

This concert continues a successful 2025 for Orchestra Northwest, captivating audiences with a diverse and powerful range of performances.

Highlights included a family-friendly staging of 'The Carnival of the Animals', blending Saint-Saëns’ beloved suite with vibrant selections from film and stage.

The orchestra also delivered a deeply moving performance of Gavin Bryars’ 'Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet', showcasing their emotional depth and versatility.

These performances, part of a wider regional tour across Derry, Limavady, and Dungannon, cements Orchestra Northwest’s reputation for programming that balances accessibility with artistic ambition - bringing world-class music to communities across the North West.

Now the orchestra will perform beneath the breathtaking Samhain Moon art installation.

This one-of-a-kind performance will fill Derry’s iconic Guildhall with shimmering soundscapes and magic.

This is not just a concert - it’s an immersive journey that celebrates the mystery, reflection, and beauty of the Samhain season.

From evocative classical pieces by Beethoven, Prokofiev and Debussy to hauntingly beautiful contemporary works like Benjamin Britten's 'Four Sea Interludes' from Peter Grimes and Hans Zimmer’s 'Interstellar Suite' featuring the magnificent Guildhall organ, the evening’s programme has been carefully curated to echo the ethereal glow of the moon and the turning of the season.
