Tyrone teen Caillin Joe releases catchy new single 'A Few More Minutes'

SIXTEEN-year-old singer-songwriter Caillin Joe, from County Tyrone, is making waves once again on the Irish country music scene with the release of his latest single, ‘A Few More Minutes’.

The young talent, who continues to balance school life with his passion for music, describes the track as an upbeat Irish country tune "for all the jivers", a song that tells a story of young love, the demands of a busy lifestyle and the wish for just a little more time.

“This song was one of those songs that just came to mind. I just thought to myself what the audience could relate to, and the phrase just popped into my head," said Caillin who hails from Creggan outside Omagh.

"After that, everything else just kind of came with it."

The inspiration for the single came to Caillin in a flash, a moment of creativity that led to a full song being written in under an hour.

But like any great song, the final version came together through hard work and collaboration.

“It took a few late evenings to make sure the song sounded good and the lyrics were catchy,” the young artist said.

“I worked with Wayne Thorose down at Ballyrose Media Recording Studio, and he was a great man to work with. He definitely worked his magic on the song.”

Though the lyrics evolved during the production process, the heart of the song remained true to Caillin’s original idea: a relatable tale of balancing love and life, told with a fresh melody and modern Irish country feel.

This latest release follows closely on the heels of his previous self-penned single, ‘No More Being Afraid’, which was released in July to coincide with Caillin’s mountain climbing challenge he accomplished.

“I always try to make sure my songs don’t sound like anything else, not just to avoid legal issues but because I want each one to feel original. It’s got to have a melody that sticks with you," Caillin stated.

Now available on all major streaming platforms and requestable from favourite radio stations, ‘A Few More Minutes’ has already received an overwhelmingly positive response.

“I’m absolutely over the moon that people are enjoying it,” Caillin said. “I’m overwhelmed by the reaction it has gotten so far.”

A music video is also in the works, with planning currently underway.

Despite the growing attention, Caillin remains grounded, committed to continuing his studies as he stays on at school to complete his A-Levels.
