THE Alley Theatre in Strabane is inviting locals and visitors to rediscover Strabane through the lens of one of its most celebrated sons, Flann O’Brien, with a series of walking tours.
At just £5 per person, these 40-minute family-friendly tours offer a unique and engaging insight into the life and legacy of the iconic Irish writer.
Led by The Alley’s Front of House team and scripted in partnership with the Strabane History Society, the tours are a fun and interactive way to explore the genius of Flann O’Brien and his lasting connection to the town's streets.
Participants can expect a relaxed walking experience filled with storytelling and a deep sense of local pride, all while exploring the cultural heritage right on their doorstep.
The opening week of the tours saw a wave of support from local businesses, who worked together to help broaden awareness and celebrate the benefits these tours bring to the community.
Louise Boyce, manager at the Alley Theatre, is delighted to be offering the tours.
She said: “Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a first-time visitor, the Flann O’Brien Walking Tour is the perfect way to experience Strabane and its link with Flann O’Brien.
