Put your money where your heart is this Christmas

PEOPLE living in the Strabane area are being encouraged to ‘put their money where their heart is’ this Christmas and support local businesses during the festive season.

One of the best ways to do this is to purchase a ‘Love Strabane Gift Card’ as a present for one of the important people in your life.

It doesn’t matter what the recipient’s interests are, or what age they are, with over 70 local businesses signed up to accept the card they will be able to spend it on whatever they choose.

Encouraging locals to consider purchasing the gift card, the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, councillor Lilian Seenoi Barr, said: "Strabane people have an incredible affinity for their town and we know they love to support the local shops and businesses wherever they can.

"There is no better way to do this than by purchasing a 'Love Strabane Gift Card'.

"A gift card is always a great option for a present as it allows the person to make a choice about what they want or need the most.

"And buying a ‘Love Strabane Gift Card’ ensures your money remains circulating in the town.

"We all know where your heart lies at Christmas, now it’s time to spend your money there as well.”

Kieran Kennedy, chair of Strabane BID, added: “We are delighted to have over 70 local businesses signed up to the ‘Love Strabane Gift Card’ initiative.

"We know many people buy the gift cards throughout the year, but at Christmas time there is a real rush to purchase them as they make an ideal present.

"Remember - all the money spent on the ‘Love Strabane Gift Cards’ over the festive period will help our local traders have a positive start to 2025.
