THE iconic anthems of Bruce Springsteen and Pete Seeger will come to life in the Alley Theatre later this month as The Seeger Sessions Revival take to the Strabane stage.
The Seeger Sessions Revival is not just a concert; it’s a journey through the rich tapestry of American folk music.
This highly anticipated show pays homage to Pete Seeger and the critically acclaimed album ‘We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions’ by Bruce Springsteen.
The show features an ensemble of 13 talented musicians dedicated to preserving and celebrating the legacy of Seeger and Springsteen's big-band take on the songs.
Featuring fiddle, banjo, accordion, steel guitar, whistle, a thumping rhythm section, a superb virtuosic four-piece brass section and strong vocal harmonies, audiences can expect a vibrant and energetic performance, filled with foot-stomping rhythms, soulful melodies, and the communal spirit that defines the music.
Building on the momentum of their most recent shows at prestigious venues such as The Ulster Hall in Belfast, EartH Hackney Theatre in London, and the Stendhal Festival, the band is thrilled to bring their unique sound back to Strabane.
These performances have earned them widespread acclaim, with audiences captivated by their dynamic arrangements and passionate delivery.
"We are always excited to come back to The Alley Theatre as it is where we played our first show just over two years ago," said Christopher Speer from the band.
"Following our incredible experiences at venues like The Ulster Hall and EartH Theatre, we can’t wait to share the spirit and energy of this music with the people of Strabane again.
"It’s going to be a night to remember."
This special evening will feature classic songs such as ‘Old Dan Tucker’, ‘Jesse James’, ‘This Little Light of Mine’ and ‘American Land’ among others.
The band's powerful performances promise to transport the audience back to a time when music was a powerful force for social change and unity.
The Seeger Sessions Revival will appear at the Alley Theatre on Thursday, September 26.
Tickets are priced at £27.50 and are available from www.alley-theatre.com or call the Alley Theatre Box Office on 028 71384444.
