World champion accolade for Bready's Jacob

A YOUNG member of Bready Ulster Scots Pipe Band has been crowned a world champion drummer.

Jacob Laird recently competed at the World Championships in the under 14 section.

Aged only 12, he was one of the youngest competitors in the juvenile section one March final at the World Solo Drumming Championships.

Jacob played brilliantly to come first and is the new title holder.

He has been taught by tutor, Richard Campbell, for the last four years.
