THE first count of vote in the Sperrin District Electoral Area (DEA) is well underway at Foyle Arena.
Of a total eligble electorate of 18,048 there were 11,087 votes polled.
This represents a 61.43 per cent turnout - an increase on the 59.62 per cent polled in 2014.
Early indications are that independents Paul Gallagher and Raymond Barr have polled strongly while the Alliance Party's Scott Moore looks pleased with his first preference votes.
More to follow.
