AN exciting new cross-community initiative has been launched at Dennett Interchange, Donemana.
A historical walking programme comprising six different walks throughout the Sperrin area is commencing on May 2 with the first walk to take place in the Ballymagorry area.
The walks will feature historical places of interest in the areas and will conclude with a talk on the local history by a local historian and a discussion.
A spokesperson explained: “Lunch will be provided at all of the local venues as part of the event. The walks will take place over the months of May to December 2019 and a booklet detailing the walks will be produced for distribution through local community outlets at the end of the programme.
“Other walks will take place in Donemana, Park village, Douglas Bridge, Strabane and Plumbridge.
“Transport will be provided from various points in the Sperrin area to enable people to access the walks. To sign up for these walks please contact Teresa at Dennett Interchange on 02871397990.”
This project is supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
It is part of the Building Positive Relations Theme’s ‘One Community Programme’.
