Drumquin took the lead from a free kick from 20 yards, but on 20 minutes the game was squared up again when Cashel struck. The same player then scored again to have Dergview 2-1 up at the break.

After half-time Dergview started to get to grips with the game, moved the ball about better and with pace. It as from two long balls forward though that the would add to the scoresheet.

On the hour mark, a long clearance from the Dergview keeper allowed Cashel to beat the defender to the ball and poke home for his hat-trick.

The fourth was added by Turlough McNamee, again the product of a big kick-out into the Drumquin back-line. McNamee's pace saw him race onto the ball ahead f the opposing goalie and seal the points for the Castlederg men.

“We had pace up front and out the wings, and I said if you can get a chance to get a long ball up the field," said manager martin Buchanan. "It worked out well for us.

“Once we got the third goal, we had the wind in our sails. Drumquin tried their best and stuck at it but it just wasn't working for them. At times, we could have scored more.

Cashel has been unable to find his way into Richard Clarke's team at Darragh Park, and Buchanan gave him 90 minutes in the second string. He ended up being the big difference between the teams on Saturday.

“He made it look easy at times and he showed the quality of playing at that higher level. It was a good team performance, but Nathan has that wee bit of class.

Realistically, I don't think Lisnaskea or Mountjoy will be caught. Third place would be a good finish for us, We have a young team that has had to rebuild, so this season is a stepping stone for us."
