PLAYED in perfect conditions, with glorious sunshine at the Meadows, it was a pity that not a point could be scored in the top of the Qualifying League Four table encounter between Strabane Rugby Club firsts and Ophir on Saturday.
Neither team showed much attacking ability with defences on top.
Ophir had several kicks at goal without success. Not surprisingly, a last minute penalty kick rebounded off the Strabane upright for the game to end in stalemate.
This coming Saturday, Strabane firsts are at home to Cavan in the quarter-final of the Gordon West Cup.

Strabane seconds travelled to the far reaches of Donegal on Saturday, beside Carrickfin airport and showed the first team how to score points.
The team had too much expertise and experience for newcomers, Tirconnail. Tries were scored by Stewart Gamble, Ross Smith (2) and Johnnie Kee (2), with Simon Mowbray chipping in with a try, three conversions and a penalty.
This coming Saturday, the seconds entertain Carrick V in the quarter-finals of the McCambley Cup at Strabane Academy, Milltown campus, kindly granted.
