Strabane II 41. Ballymoney V 0.

STRABANE Rugby Club seconds were much too strong for a game Ballymoney fifths team on Saturday.
The game was very open and the tries flowed. Centre, Johnnie Robinson, opened the scoring with a typical try, fullback, Simon Mowbray celebrated his return with two tries, and winger, Robbie Pattison, was delighted with his try in the corner. Simon Maxwell converted three tries and added a penalty to give Strabane a 29-0 half-time lead.
The home side eased off in the second half and unfortunately for Ballymoney, two of their players clashed heads. Emergency first aid stopped the flow of blood, but the injured duo were unable to continue and with the result in no doubt the visitors accepted the offer of two Strabane substitutes to complete the game.
Simon Maxwell scored a try under the posts before, shockingly, missing the simple conversion. Hooker, Johnnie Kee, scored the final try, which was converted by Maxwell for a final score of 41-0 to Strabane.
This coming Saturday, Strabane seconds play Portadown in the McCambley Cup at the Meadows, which should be a much tougher game.
