New Strabane team accepted into F&W League

A NEWLY formed Strabane football club has been accepted to play in the Fermanagh and Western League third division for the forthcoming season.
Strabane Athletic Football Club (SAFC) would like to call upon all interested parties (volunteers, players, sponsors, and so on) to a public meeting in Melvin Community Hall at 7.30pm on Friday (July 9).
A committee, which will run the club, will be elected on the night and its members will deal with all issues raised.
Any player interested in signing for the club can do so on the night as well. Prospective players are asked to bring two passport sized photographs for registration purposes.
Those behind the formation of SAFC and their submission for acceptance to the Fermanagh and Western want to help the club progress and develop into one that the community can support and get involved in.
It's hoped that in years ahead, a fully functional club with various age-group teams will be competing in their respective leagues, with the ultimate goal of leagues and cups being won.
However, this can only be achieved by support, all of which will be welcome at the meeting on Friday evening.
