Sion Swifts face biggest game of the season
Thursday, 4 February 2010
Sion Swifts will play their biggest game of the season this Saturday when they meet top Belfast side, Crumlin Stars, in the last 16 of the Coca-Cola Irish Junior Cup.
The Swifts would like to thank Strabane FC and Mourne Harps, both of whom have allowed the Swifts to use the pitch at Melvin, which has been allocated to them this season.
With a couple of players missing, the task will be extreme but with a mixture of youth and experience and home advantage the Swifts will be hoping to make the quarter-finals of the prestigious tournament.
The club extends good luck to Barrowfield who also play in the last 16 against Belfast side, Ardoyne FC. The Swifts played the Belfast outfit in last year's competition, losing narrowly by 2-1.
“Everyone at the club wishes Sion Swifts all the best for Saturday," said a club spokesperson.
