RUNNERS are being urged to wear blue during a memorial run which is taking place later this month in memory of a local man who died earlier this year.
Adrian Devine (41), from Tullymoan Road, Clady - described as "an absolute gentleman" by those who knew him - passed away suddenly on January 10.
The father-of-three collapsed at his home after returning from a jog.
Well-known and highly regarded throughout the locality, he was a chef and managed outlets for New Horizons Partnership; a cross border, cross community organisation that provides services to people with learning disabilities and people from other disadvantaged groups.
One of Mr Devine's roles was running the New Horizons cafe at the Alley Theatre where he was a hugely popular member of staff.
He was also an ardent Everton supporter and a member of the Castlefinn Running club.
The club has arranged the Castlefinn 5K family fun run and walk in his memory for Friday, July 27. It's beginning at the CPI Centre at 7.30pm.
A club spokesperson said: "This year's 5K is in memory of Adrian Devine - a huge Everton supporter so please run in blue on the 27th to show your support to him and his family."
For further details contact the club's Dermot Granaghan on 0872682856.
